Case study: Product Office sircle and Hackersgen
Today I would like to take you through one of our sircle's case studies and how we contributed to grow Hackersgen's platform.
At the beginning of the project, the team conducted a comprehensive competitive analysis. This step wasn’t merely about understanding competitors, but rather identifying possibilities to redefine the Hackersgen experience. By analysing the strengths and weaknesses of competitor platforms, our team gained valuable insights that changed the course of the design approach.
The pivotal shift came when the team recognised that HackersGen could go beyond the confines of the digital space. It wasn’t just about delivering content; it was about creating a journey for its users. This led to a new vision of the platform, something more than a static destination. After that, our team of UX designers conducted a survey to validate our vision. Is this what users really want? Are our assumptions correct? The survey aimed to understand user preferences and expectations. The results confirmed and strengthened the initial hypothesis that, for example, integrating gamification elements would be crucial in enhancing engagement among the student community.
We later discussed with the rest of the team the importance of social, cognitive, collaborative and emotional engagement, how to apply it and the activities related to each of them. It was also discussed the possibility to integrate elements such as points, badges, leaderboards, and interactive challenges into the platform's design, transforming learning into an engaging and competitive experience.
The platform is now switching to an immersive space where students and teachers do not just consume content but actively participate in a dynamic learning experience.
By leveraging competitive analysis and validating hypotheses through our UX plan, the team helped to redefine the platform’s vision, turning it into an immersive journey.
The journey continues, fueled by the passion and innovation of the whole team, continually seeking to elevate the HackersGen experience.
