Who are Sorint UXers?
Dear Sorintians and colleagues,
Today I would like to talk to you about some special human beings, the people I am blessed to work with every day, my team. You might ask yourself, why? What is so special about you? We are UX/UI designers! Some of you might already know who we are, others don't… so, what do we do? Before introducing my team, I will try to explain in the easiest way possible what User Experience Design is.
When we think of professions related to music, photography, theatre and design, it is easy to associate them with art. In the same way, engineering, mathematics or biology are all professions that we immediately relate to science. However, there is a third category, professions that are nothing more than a mix of practices, such as User experience design. Sometimes, the line between science and art can be difficult to grasp. This difficulty is due to the fact that we often tend to relate the creative process of design to art. Art is a creative form of expression. It creates something to arouse viewers’ emotions, or just for an aesthetic purpose. Instead, when it comes to science, we know that it is not about emotions, but about facts. Knowledge is acquired which is validated through scientific evidence. UX designers, as in science, when applying the so-called design process, rely on valid conclusions, not on hypotheses.
With this said, now let’s meet the team!

A strange/funny belief from your childhood
People who met me know that I was born without my left forearm, so as a child I used to tell other children that I was born like this because Jesus had run out of flesh and therefore could not give me a full arm 😂 🤷

My parents used to say that during Epiphany night, the old witch in Italy we call “befana” would turn the walls into whipped cream and the animals would start talking. I always fell asleep with a finger against the wall, with the hope I would wake up and taste the cream the next morning!
