The FLATSHAPE project, considered in response to the challenges of the global pandemic, aims to simplify smart working through the development of an open-source tool. It must be versatile, suitable for calls, presentations, courses, and streaming. Characterized by the absence of constraints related to specific vendors that may limit its development.
The project structure is based on the Matrix protocol, with Synapse as the reference point, divided into three solutions: a web application with React, a mobile version with Flutter, and a desktop application with Electron. The team, initially composed of 6 members, has experienced significant expansion reaching 14 members. This increase has not been without challenges, but the team has demonstrated competence in overcoming them, coordinating effectively. The testing phase, supported by an Application Performance expert, was intensive, culminating in "Bug Hunting Weeks": The entire team for a week put the application under stress, allowing even the most hidden bugs to be identified.
The gradual release of features was planned with Alpha and Beta phases in preparation for the first official release next year. Through a collaborative and iterative approach, FLATSHAPE is exceeding defined milestones and adapting to the changing needs of end-users.

Il progetto FLATSHAPE, concepito in risposta alle sfide della pandemia globale, vuole semplificare lo smartworking attraverso lo sviluppo di un tool open source. Deve essere versatile, adatta a call, presentazioni, corsi e streaming, caratterizzata dall'assenza di vincoli legati a fornitori specifici che possono limitarne lo sviluppo. La struttura del progetto si basa sul protocollo Matrix, con Synapse come punto di riferimento, suddiviso in tre componenti fondamentali: un'applicazione web con React, una versione mobile con Flutter e un'applicazione desktop con Electron.
Il team, inizialmente composto da 6 membri, ha sperimentato una crescita significativa e ora conta su 14 professionisti. Questo aumento non è stato privo di sfide, ma il team ha dimostrato competenza nel superarle, coordinandosi efficacemente. La fase di testing, supportata da un esperto di Application Performance, è stata intensiva, culminando con i "Bug Hunting Week": Tutto il team per una settimana ha messo sotto stress l’applicazione permettendo così di individuare anche i bug più nascosti.
Il rilascio graduale delle funzionalità è stato programmato con fasi Alpha e Beta in vista del primo rilascio ufficiale del prossimo anno. Grazie a un approccio collaborativo e iterativo, FLATSHAPE sta superando le milestone definite e adattandosi alle mutevoli esigenze degli utenti finali.
