KubeCon + CloudNativeCon Europe 2018

The increasing popularity of container orchestration, Kubernetes, show as it goes beyond being an early adoption technology where many organizations and end users are putting into production with great enthusiasm. Kubernetes provides automation tooling for deploying, scaling, and managing applications in container. It’s based on technology used internally by Google, solving a number of operational challenges that may have previously required manual intervention or home-grown tools.

KubeCon + CloudNativeCon Europe, a three-day conference hosted by the Cloud Computing Foundation (CNCF), was held in Copenhagen in early May, hosting more than 4,300 adopters and technologists from leading open source and cloud native communities. Cloud vendors and toolmakers have announced several new products and services, and almost all of them have honored the role that Kubernetes has taken in the world of native cloud software development.

The start and end days of the event were marked with the keynotes and the lectures throughout the day were categorized among several paths such as CI / CD, Obsevability, Security, Serverless, Service Mesh, Storage, etc.

A very well organized event, in a wide and well distributed space that had dozens of conference rooms, meeting areas for participants, and showcase spaces of the main vendors and developers of solutions directly related to Kubernetes. Many of the conference sessions at the show reinforced the maturity message, with content relating to grown-up considerations such as security and compliance, as well the keynotes covering some real-life use cases.

It was certainly an amazing event and a great opportunity to stay inside the main technological initiatives based on Kubernetes as orchestrator. There is no way to leave everything documented here at the event, so I leave some useful links related to the event:
